EGLE Environmental Quality Analyst - Noncommunity Water Supply Unit

This position serves as the Noncommunity Drinking Water program analyst for analyzing and reporting of technical information related to compliance and enforcement activities in drinking water and environmental health. It also serves as an information source for the Federal Safe Drinking Water Information System, monitors the status of overall drinking water environmental health regulatory efforts, and provides quality assurance for compliance with state contracts for the 44 county-level, local health departments (LHD). This position will be responsible for updating reports, stewarding data, and determining compliance related to public drinking water under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Act 399, PA 1976. Regulating public drinking water involves implementing rules for the construction and operation of water-producing infrastructure, as well as tracking adherence to contaminant monitoring schedules. Members of EGLE’s Noncommunity Water Supplies Unit work with people at LHDs to oversee more than 9,000 noncommunity (non-residential), public water supplies in Michigan.
