Sanitarian I,  Food Program – Ingham County

This position reports to the Food Program Supervisor and is primarily responsible for routine and follow up inspections at food service establishments.  This also includes complaint investigations, enforcement actions, consultations, foodborne illness investigations, and other related activities.  There may be occasional opportunities to assist in other programs like surface water sampling and household hazardous waste. 

The salary is range is $57,239.52 to $68,730.22/year.  Promotion to Sanitarian II happens upon completion of one year of service and obtaining RS/REHS certification.  Sanitarian II salary range is $68,329.90 to $82,047.11/year.
