NOTE:  SURVEYS WILL BE CONDUCTED PRIMARILY IN WAYNE, MONROE, AND WASHTENAW COUNTIES.  

Job Description: 

This position is responsible for performing environmental health inspections (surveys) and complaint investigations in a statewide capacity for state licensed and federally certified health care facilities. These facilities include hospitals, long term care facilities, and other health care facility types in the State of Michigan. The inspections involve evaluating the physical design, safety, sanitation and control of communicable diseases that are needed to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents and patients so that a safe and sanitary environment is provided. This position also provides consultation to other divisions within the Bureau including Child Care Licensing Division, Adult Foster Care and Camps Licensing Division, which includes Homes for the Aged, and the Federal Survey and Certification Division. This position participates in investigation and consultation of disease outbreaks coordinating with local health departments, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and other agencies.
