Environmental Health Description: Position performs a variety of moderately complex technical activities in support of all environmental health programs. Collects a variety of samples for laboratory analysis, performs related tests, records results and tracks and monitors compliance/non-compliance activities and violations. Conducts site evaluation revisits and final inspections for private water supplies and onsite sewage treatment. Conducts inspections for temporary food service establishments, follow-up inspections for fixed food service establishments, campgrounds, swimming pools, septage trucks, septage receiving stations, and septage land application sites. Conducts complaint investigations. Maintains various inventories, files and records of activities. 

Location: Position serves the 5-county region from a base in Hancock, MI, located in Houghton County. Travel is required. 

Qualifications: Associates degree in environmental health, civil or environmental engineering technology, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and technical training in a field related to biology or public health. Valid driver’s license required.
