The successful candidate will work in the Food Services area of the Environmental Health Division enforcing Kent County environmental health regulations and applicable state laws. Primary responsibilities include inspecting commercial, residential and public locations to enforce federal, state and county sanitation and environmental health laws to safeguard the public health.
This position provides technical consultation to food service providers and responds to requests for information and assistance with respect to environmental health issues. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve on our Food Safety Team, working in our food safety, swimming pool, campground, DHS and Body Art programs along with other assigned duties.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field of science or engineering. Must have thorough knowledge of principles and best practices of Environmental Health Sanitation and county and state Environmental Public Health laws, rules and regulations. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license and have access to transportation in the performance of job duties. Computer literacy, including knowledge of word processing software, required.
Registration as a Sanitarian in the State of Michigan preferred.
