The Calhoun County Public Health Department is looking for a Manager for its Environmental Health (EH) Program. Under the direction of the Health Officer, the EH Manager directs and coordinates EH programs, including, but not limited to, Food Inspections, Sewage Disposal Systems, Water Wells, Type II Public Water Wells, etc. The manager also supervises staff, reviews, develops, and implements policies and procedures, and oversees the EH budget. Coordination with other department programs including Communicable Disease, Emergency Preparedness, etc. is also required. Responsible for ensuring enforcement of local/state/federal rules and regulations, and promoting public and environmental health.
Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Master’s Degree in public administration, public health, or other relevant area of study. Any combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be a Registered Sanitarian, possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation. Six to eight years of progressive experience in environmental health programs and management, including experience in budgeting and public relations.
