Someone calls and says they’ve broken a thermometer. Or a student brought a jar of mercury to school and it’s everywhere. Or someone dropped a CFL bulb. Are these “OMG” moments for you, or are you ready to respond, give advice, and protect public health? Spend some time with one of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services' toxicologists at a mercury spill response introduction and refresher. You’ll learn the big deal about mercury, how to handle these calls for help, who to call for more assistance, and what you can do in the field.
Bed Bugs (Cimex lectularius) have reappeared in North American society and are making headlines as they infest not only apartment buildings and homes but also hotels and public spaces. Join the University of Minnesota for their Let's Beat the Bed Bug workshop.
